Beekeepers rush to rescue millions of bees after a truck overturns in Texas

A semitrailer carrying beehives overturned in Southeast Texas, releasing millions of bees and scattering them across the area. Beekeepers from the region rushed to the scene, working frantically to gather and save the swarms before they were lost. Their urgent care for some of the smallest creatures on the road drew attention across the country.

"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father's care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."

Matthew 10:29-31 (NIV)
The Connection

There is something striking about grown men and women dropping everything to rescue insects most people would swat away. It echoes a truth Jesus pressed on His disciples: not even a sparrow, one of the least valued creatures of His day, falls to the ground outside the Father's care. If beekeepers will labor over millions of scattered bees, how much more does God attend to you, who He says are worth more than many sparrows. He numbers the very hairs on your head. The conclusion Jesus draws from all this is not a lecture but a comfort: do not be afraid.

A Prayer

Father, thank You that nothing is too small for Your care, not a sparrow, not a single hair, not me. When I feel overlooked or lost in the swarm, remind me that I am seen and held by You. Drive out my fear with the knowledge of how much I am worth to You. Amen.
