About us

Two people.
One calling.

We're a husband and wife building small, quiet tools to bring scripture closer to everyday life. Born from a faith we didn't know we'd been missing.

Word That Lives began the way most quiet things do, late at night, thinking how to spread the word. Something was being planted. For most of our lives we knew about God; we did not know Him. The change, when it came, was not loud. It was steady. It was, in the truest sense, a new creation.

We are A & O, married, two kids, ordinary, and unqualified for any of this except by grace. Just two people who were changed and couldn't keep it to themselves.

One of us is good at speaking the word, one of us is good at building, both dedicated. We are Christian by birth, raised in the faith, went through the motions, the ups and the downs. Knew the stories but we didn't know the Person.

In 2017, something happened, something changed our lives. We're not the first; life moves, the way it does, and not always gently. We went through ungentle times and had nowhere to go but to Christ. We accepted Him not as a tradition but as a living truth.

Between us there is a single laptop, a small Telegram bot, and the conviction that the Word of God should not stay silent but a living thing to be passed from hand to hand, morning to morning, friend to friend.

We started with the project we ourselves needed most: a single pastor's reflection paired with scripture, arriving in the early hours before the day had a chance to take us. From there, the rest is coming, a podcast, a newsletter, a series of small dramas, each one an attempt to set the ancient Word in the shape of a modern day, without dulling its edge.

We are not a company. We are not building toward an exit. We do this in evenings and weekends, around full-time work and a family, because we believe what we read: that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the most important news a person can hear, and that telling it well is worth a life. Thank you for being here. We're glad you came.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:
The old has gone, the new is here.
