SpaceX agrees to buy AI coding startup Cursor for $60 billion
SpaceX, riding high after its recent public offering, agreed to buy the AI coding startup Cursor for $60 billion, one of the largest acquisitions in technology. The move is aimed at gaining an edge in the fast-moving race to build the most capable AI coding tools. It is a staggering sum poured into building the next generation of machine capability.
"Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain."
Scripture does not condemn building. Solomon, who wrote this psalm, built one of the ancient world's wonders. What the verse does is reorder the priorities: it asks not whether we build, but who builds, and for whom. We live in an age of breathtaking construction, billions of dollars and the brightest minds racing to build machines that can think and create. None of that is condemned here. But the psalm gently insists that any tower raised without God at its foundation is, in the end, labor in vain. The question for every builder, ancient or modern, is the same: is the Lord in it?
Father, in an age racing to build greater and greater things, keep us mindful of the foundation. Let us not labor in vain on towers that cannot last. Build Your purposes into our work, and let what we make serve You and bless others. Amen.
